Done with Orchestra

OFF

As I walked Madison from my room to her bed just now, I coudn’t help but notice that she’s tall! Her beautiful height was on full display at her dance concert on Saturday.

Tonight was Madison’s spring orchestra concert, and now she’s done. She played her aunt Grace’s violin for most of this year, and in tonight’s show. My dad came to watch as well. She did an excellent job and made us all proud.

I didn’t see many kids who were doing orchestra and dance, because both are huge time commits and practice intensive extracurricular activities that shouldn’t coincide. And yet, Madison perseveres! She’s shifting from orchestra in 7th grade to band in 8th grade. We’ll be supportive because she’s good at everything she tries, so she may as well try all the things, just like her dad.

After the show Madison suggested ice cream cones from Dairy Queen. Then let out a sad and quiet sigh when I turned to go home instead of towards the land of chocolate-dipped deliciousness. I adjusted our route and took her and Bentley to get ice cream. Madison remembered to thank me, and we all enjoyed it.
