A Pianist
Madison has been taking piano lessons for a few weeks now, but she’s already so improved. She gets right along with her teacher, and is quickly learning proper technique and it shows.
Today she wanted to show me a song, and I was too hangry to hear it. I wanted to take the family out to dinner, and I couldn’t spare a minute to listen. That’s properly a representation of how tight my time feels to me. It probably isn’t that severe, but the fact I wouldn’t take ten seconds to listen to a song on the piano is a bad sign.
After dinner I went with her over to the piano and saw the song she wanted to play. But then her fingers started to play something totally different and very pleasant. She had written a song! It had a great sound to it, and while simple, it was very harmonic.
I’m proud of Madison for being so creative when creativity is something I’ve struggled with my whole life, especially in the arts. Gives me hope she’ll grow that talent and share it with the world some day, especially considering she told me that when she grows up she wants to work at Target.
